Event - Stone Age Activity Days

1 and 2 May 2019

The children across all the classes at school experienced first hand about archaeology when investigating life in the Stone Age.

We were very fortune to have a world class archaeologist - Dr Ian Parker-Heath - to come and share his first hand experiences with the children.

The children spent two days experiences fun activities that helped them to understand life in the Stone Age and how we have learnt about this over the years. They also had many opportunities to: use new vocabulary; use techniques to help them discover for themselves artefacts that they could learn from; have a go at making arrow heads for hunting; grinding gain using a quern stone, weaving; jewellery making; making pots out of clay; and many many more fun activities accumulating in a whole school interactive drama based assembly.
