Event - A Day at Beaumanor Hall

18 October 2007

On Thursday 18 October 2007 all of the school went to Beaumanor Hall for the day.

Reception looked for a teddy bear in the woods, Year 1 followed a nursery rhymes trail, Year 2 orienteered, Year 3 tried to survive in the woods by building shelters, Year 4 built bridges across a stream, Year 5 did archery and Year 6 tested their skills and nerves on the high ropes.

The Year 4 and 5 children stayed over night and canoed on the Friday 19.

Overall a wonder time was had by the children who learnt so much about the world around them, each other and above all, about themselves.

Some reception children looking for teddy in the woods
Year 3 practising their survival skills

Year 6 were preparing for an even greater adventure
It's a long way up

Keep balancing!
A good start on the zip wire...

...but not for long!
Year 4 learnt the theory of how to construct bridges

In small groups, they put their knowledge into reality
However, there seems to be a common theme of putting ones foot in it!

Years 4 and 5 stopped over night and went canoeing the next day
And a beautiful day it was
